The WHEI WWE Tag Team Championship was a professional wrestling world tag team championship created and promoted by War Hawks Entertainment Inc. for the SmackDown Brand. It was one of three tag team titles for WHEI's roster and one of the two original tag team titles. Alongside the WHEI World Tag Team Championship on the Raw brand and the LWL World Tag Team Championship on the LWL brand.

During the inception of the War Hawks Universe Mode it was decided the brand split would be brought back to give superstars a chance to shine who otherwise would not be able to with the unified roster. While Raw brought back the World Tag Team title to be exclusive to them, SmackDown kept the current title but reverted back to its original design because General Manager Ironman didn't like the design. LWL then introduced their own set of tag team titles to be exlcusive to them.

The title was contested for all throughout season one until the reintroduction of the brand split in real life. Which brought with it new titles. This resulted in this title being quietly retired in favor of the WHEI SmackDown Tag Team Championship in season two. The final champions were Edge & Christian.

History Edit

This title recognizes the real life lineage of the WWE Tag Team Championship that was started in 2002. While the two tag team titles were unified in 2009 this was ignored when the universe mode was started and they started doing their own thing.

The first champions were the then Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. They were awarded the title after being drafted to SmackDown during the season one draft. They immediately began a feud with Christian, whose partner and best friend Edge had been drafted to LWL. This resulted in Ironman trading Damien Mizdow to LWL in exchange for Edge to even the odds.

The reunited friends who win the title from The Wyatt Family at SmackDown's first pay per view (Cyber Sunday (2016)). They would hold onto it until the end of season one at which point it was quietly retired for good in favor of the new SmackDown Tag Team Championship which had been introduced in real life. Making Edge and Christian the final WWE Tag Team Champions (at least in universe mode) ever.
