The WHEI Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling tag team championship created and promoted by by War Hawks Entertainment Inc. It is the sixth overall male tag team championship and is defended on the cruiserweight exclusive 205 Live brand. The title was created in season 3 to be the tag team championship of the 205 Live brand. The innaugural champions were DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa).
The championship is contested in WHEI's cruiserweight division by wrestlers at a maximum weight of 205 lbs (93 kg) per partner. The current champions are The War Hawks Cruiserweight Division (Heath & Stephen) in their first reign.
When it was decided that 205 Live would be brought into the War Hawks unvierse mode for the cruiserweight wrestlers it was decided that their were enough of them to warrant more than one championship. With this in mind this title, along with a television championship were created to compliment the primary title.
The championship was drafted to Raw when the current champions DIY were drafted there during the season three draft. This had the effect of making it the only cruiserweight championship to appear on Raw in season 3. Which is ironic considering the cruiserweight division was originally brought back to be exclusive to Raw.
Championship belt design Edit
The title is made to look similar to the main cruiserweight championship, with the strap being purple to match. The center plate is a large irregular shape which looks like a circle with a rectangle running through it. The words "Cruiserweight Champions" are at the top and bottom of the circle while the words "Tag Team" run through the rectangle. The centerplate also has designs going through it.
Like the other two cruiserweight championships and most of the main championships, the side plates can be removed and replaced with the champions' logo in lieu of a name plate.
